Common Kitchen Design Terms: Part 2

Here is another batch of design terms that will help spark ideas for your new kitchen! Knowing your options will help narrow down the endless possibilities and help you communicate with our design team!

Cut-Outs: holes that are cut into a workspace that will hold sinks, a kitchen range or a built-in appliance.

Integrated Appliances: appliances that are built into cabinetry and concealed by cupboard doors.

Work Triangle: a kitchen layout with the refrigerator, cooking area and sink positioned to form a triangle to make them easily accessible during the cooking process.

Galley Kitchen: a kitchen with two parallel counters facing each other.

Pilaster: a decorative addition that looks like a support leg at the end of a row of cabinets. It's purely decorative and is optional!
